Katherine talks with the Scottish Government

Last month, Dr Ellsworth-Krebs presented to the Scottish Government’s Climate Change Research Group on ‘The limitations of current energy saving advice: a need to engage with visions of desirable home life’. This was followed by a half hour of enthusiastic discussion of policy implications emerging from her PhD research, with creative solutions beyond the typical energy saving advice such as working with B&Q and IKEA to target owner occupiers when they are more open to making home improvements (e.g. moving home, adding on, or building new) and to market space optimising solutions as part of visions of ‘ideal homes’.
