About the Project
We have been commissioned by the Scottish Government to research the housing aspirations of the people in Scotland. We are interested in understanding
where people want to live and
why, and
what they think are the challenges in achieving their goals both in the short and longer term. This study is being undertaken by researchers from the Universities of St Andrews and Sheffield, led by
Dr Kim McKee.
We Need You
Our project is currently recruiting people willing to talk to us about their housing experiences and hopes for the future. In particular we are looking for people who fall into the following categories:
- People aged
16 or over
- People living anywhere in Scotland, but especially from these
local authority areas:
- Aberdeen City
- Argyll and Bute
- Perth and Kinross
- Renfrewshire
- Scottish Borders
It does not matter what your housing situation currently is as we are looking to speak to people in a range of different situations. Therefore you may be a homeowner; renting in the social or private sector; living with parents/relatives; living in supported or homeless accommodation; or perhaps you currently have an alternative living arrangement.
What Would my Participation Involve?
Your participation will involve taking part in either:
• An online focus group (in a secure online chat-room)
• Or an interview (either by telephone/online via SKYPE/face-to-face)
It is our hope that having this choice will allow you to participate in a manner that is most convenient for you. The interview/focus group should last 45-60 minutes and will be organised for a time of your choosing. You will receive a
£20 shopping voucher for your contribution.
If you are interested in talking to us, and you meet the eligibility criteria listed above, then please contact our research team who can then send you further information about what participation involves.
